Three things:
- Establish, share, and own the vision
- Bring maturity
- Provide accountability
You may think this is kind of an odd assortment, like, why these three? Admittedly, two of them came from a mentor of mine, and I thought the vision one is indispensable.
I suggest that you identify a place in need of a leader, and then see if you can imagine the outcome if a person stepped up and did these three things.
I had a situation this week where I was sharing with a couple this concept of leadership. Their vision was to keep the home bills paid. They needed to bring maturity by acting like responsible adults, making the tough choices to align with their vision. They needed to provide accountability to each other / others if they were not holding to their support of the vision or demonstrating maturity around their participation in the group.
This might be one of the more boring posts–I’m not feeling that inspired, admittedly. But, these three things are stuck in my mind as I endeavor to be a leader in my business, my community, my church, and my family.
